The greatest strength of social media is its democratizing tendency. We don't need anyone to tell us about ourselves. We can actually communicate with each other whenever we want. Close to 80% of all content on Social media is generated by 10% of the users. That 10% are most social on most social issues. They are the local fringe. When you have a local minority that is perceived as the majority the rest will actually self silence or we will actually go along to get along. Just because we don't want to feel left out.
Most times most of the likes on Social media are made by bots. So trusting has become a major issue nowadays because one minute you're talking to someone and the next you don't want to see their face because you fell out of love or some shit. In the end, you're just worried about what others might think about you. Are you even slightly worried about what you think about yourself?
